A content managed website, or content management system (CMS), describes a website where you are in control of the content. This may be as simple as a news website where you can add news items or perhaps a website with a list of the services you offer where you can make changes to the content whenever you like without having to go back to the website designers.
We create custom content managed websites tailored to the specific needs of our clients. Some "off-the-shelf" content management systems are often much too complicated for many businesses and not as easy to use as they are designed to cover the needs of many different types of website. By developing a content management system for your website which only provides the facilities you need it's much easier to use and also cost effective. If you need more features at a later date, these can be added.
Hybrid websites
Sometimes the most appropriate type of website for your business is a hybrid site - where some of the content is edited by you and some is static. For example, basic information about your company and it's services may not change often (i.e. it's what we call static content) so you would just provide the information to us and we'd add those pages to your website. However, you may have a press-releases section, price list or product catalogue where the information changes frequently. In this case we would provide the facility for you to add and edit this kind of content with easy to use forms in a password protected administration section of your website.
